Guest Post from Bill Schoonover, A Retired Military Officer

Photobucket

Quite a letter to Barbara Boxer from a retired military officer .. . .
Babs:

You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using the term,”ma’am,” instead of “Senator.” After all, in the military, “ma’am” is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position.

The General was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world’s most corrupt organizations,
the U.S. Senate, equaled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level
swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United
States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of
you could honestly say, “We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor?” None? One? Two?

Your reaction to the General shows several things. First, is your abysmal ignorance of all things militaire. Your treatment of the General shows you to be
an elitist of the worst kind. When the General entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to
protect your derriere now safely and comfortably ensconced in a multi-thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general’s taxes. You repaid him for this by trying to humiliate him in front of millions.

Second, is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to
convey them. Under the democrats, some don’t even have the 44 cents to buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is.

Lord Acton (1834 – 1902) so aptly charged, “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, “Mr. Power” has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is “Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat.” It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your
Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano.

And you were offended by “ma’am?”

Have a good day. Cheers!

Keeping Track…

DIVIDERS Pictures, Images and Photos

Using the link below, you can track bills as they go through Congress.  It is good for tracking bills regarding healthcare, bills relating to freedom of religion, etc.  Also, on opencongress.org you can look up a bill and get a summary of the bill.  Look up the healthcare bill- HR 676 or Senate Bill 191.  I am sure that you can also look up this Cap and Trade bill that was passed in the house.

Common Sense about Common Sense

Photobucket

Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck’s book Common Sense is popular and should be. We should elect Constitutional conservatives on every level of government from school boards, cities, counties, states and on up to the federal level. Mostly they will be Republicans, but in the primary elections find the candidates that measure up to the standards of conservatism regarding the Constitution and help them win by voting for them, sending money to their campaigns, walking precincts with them, etc. Republicans currently in office, who have NOT stood up boldly for the right, should be voted out and replaced with genuine conservatives.

If a Democrat is more conservative than the Republican, then help the Democrat win, although that situation will rarely occur.

If the situation on the federal level is that both the Republican and the Democrat are worthless, then vote for the Republican. WHY? Because the majority party in Congress gets to control the committees and overall the committees control most of what gets to the floor of the House and Senate. Also while some Republican knucklehead is who you had to vote for this time, you can be looking to replace him or her next time around.

However, Beck’s book springs from the concepts of the original Common Sense, written by Thomas Paine in 1776. The book was written shortly after British troops had taken over Boston and virtually were enslaving the people and the people in the rest of the colonies were beginning to awaken to tyranny. When Paine’s pamphlet swept through the colonies like a hurricane the country was aflame with anger!

Photobucket

Thomas Paine

Sort of like today with tea parties occurring in every state, demonstrations taking place in front of the offices of senators and congressmen, new conservative candidates who focus on the Constitution are coming on the scene, copies of the Constitution are selling like proverbial hotcakes, the exciting rise in sales of The 5,000 Year Leap, new talk show radio hosts are popping up across the nation and even the Democrats (who are not fanatics like Pelosi) are getting nervous about the Obama takeover of government and the government takeover of the lives of everyday Americans.

Of course, the last to get it are the politicians themselves and that is because they are isolated by their staffs and in an all-knowing assmption believe that the anger of the nation will be short-lived.

The truth is, however, there is a new atmosphere gaining ground daily in America with more and more people getting involved and demanding performance of our politicians–both Democrats and Republicans—and planning to remove them if they do not perform under the guidelines and principles of the Constitution.

Let’s look at the advice of Patriot Tom Paine from 1776. Following are a few quotes from Thomas Paine:

“Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil.” Paine’s assumption is like the Bible’s that man is self-centered and sinful and those in power will want more power and want to be excused from wrong doing simply because they think the depository of wisdom is with them and not the people. Let me illustrate. The people of this nation have made it clear time after time that we want the southern border to be fenced into some kind of a secure state to stop the tide of illegal aliens. Whether it is a physical or technologically virtual fence matters to few–we want to stop the illegal invasion of America. Even though Congress finally approved it, virtually nothing has happened. Neither the Bush or Obama administration had a heart for it. Why? Because they believe they know more than the people do about international relations, priorities, etc. This is the evil side of government, simply doing what they want to do while ignoring the clear will of the people. This is what gives birth to discontent and one kind of revolution or another.

There is example after example of congressmen and senators who have been in office 15, 18, 25 or 30 years, who simply do what they want to. Frankly, we need term limits so Senators–good and bad have to go at the end of two terms, which is 12 years. That is long enough for anyone. Four terms should be applied to members of the House, that would total 8 years, which is the amount of years for the president who is already term limited to two 4 year terms….that is enough.

Are we so blind as to think that new young men and women are incapable of doing those jobs? Do we have faith in the next generation of America? I do. Young people are courageous and will do what some of us who have been around for awhile think can not be done.

Here is what Paine says about a non-listening government (King George III) in his time….”There is something exceedingly ridiculous in the composition of monarchy; first it excludes a man from the means of information, yet empowers him to act in cases where the highest judgment in required. The state of a king shuts him from the world, yet the business of a king requires him to know it thoroughly….”

If a current Senator has been in office for many, many, many years, surrounded by aides, carted back and forth in a limosine, given a salary which is 4 times more than the average American makes, and is then asked to vote on bills he has not even read…..is that not a form of monarchy or at least oligarchy? Is he not being excluded from the means of information he needs, while being called on to exercise the highest levels of judgment?

How many Congressmen and Senators do you know who show up at the tea parties? Are they above the people? They are supposed to be “of the people.” Such arrogance is shameful! And why are bills 1,000 plus pages long if not to obfuscate and hide pork and evil intents? A new law should mandated that no bill can be over 100 pages long. If you can’t say it in 100 pages, then shut up.

Let Paine speak again….”a new method of thinking hath arisen.” In our time the traditional method of thinking is win an election and stay in office as long as you can, collecting power and fortune, and show concern for the people in words, but do what you want to in reality. Give the people some pork projects and they will keep electing you over and over, even though their very will is being denied. Lie and buy your way back into office, spend millions to stay there and crush any new upstart opponents with advertising he can never afford.

A new thinking is rising in this country that assumes fewer perks for member of the House and Senate, stopping the pork projects, cutting the federal spending by a considerable percentage, stop borrowing from other nations, remove the power of Congress to vote themselves raises, and limit the terms of those in office so they can be held accountable. We are looking for leaders who put the Constitution above themselves and we are looking for Judges who obey the Constitution rather than leaning on international law. The Constitution says judges (yes even Supreme Court judges) can be removed for bad behavior. Since they have taken an oath to support, protect and defend the Constitution and then have put it in a secondary position to international law…is that not bad behavior? They can be removed if we cry out loud and long enough for it to happen. Is this not radical? even extremely conservative? Yes. I am proud to be a radical on the side of truth, the people and our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution!

Let Paine address that issue too. In his time many Americans were still trying to reconcile with Great Britain, even though innocent lives had been taken by the King’s troops. Here is what he said about those who wanted to stay loyal to Britain. “a certain set of MODERATE men, who think better of the European world than it deserves; and in this last class, by an ill-judged deliberation, will be the cause of more calamaties to this continent than the other three (the other 3 were men with special interests with the Brits, weak men and prejudiced men).

We have had enough of MODERATE men and women. We are looking for radicals (in integrity and Constitutional loyalty) who will stand up and say–if it does not appear in the Constitution the federal government needs to back off. It does not matter what the opinion of some judge is, what matters is what the Constitution plainly states.

It is a sad state of affairs that in our time we have allowed ourselves to be called radicals and conservatives simply for agreeing with the Constitution of the United States, but the liberals and moderates call us that. The president’s oath of office is that he will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Instead he is ignoring it and galloping down the path of progressivism and Marxism that ignores all that is sacred about America. Hence it is radical of me to call him a liar since he violates the Constitution by instituting programs no where found in the Constitution, but I am glad to be in the company of other such radicals….George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Ronald Reagan and others, because they were NOT liars and they were not afraid to be radicals and to place their lives on the line.

What about you? Isn’t it Common Sense to stand up for America and its Constitution?

A LETTER FROM SARAH PALIN PRINTED IN WASHINGTON POST

The ‘Cap And Tax’ Dead End
By Sarah Palin
Tuesday, July 14, 2009

sarah palin Pictures, Images and Photos

There is no shortage of threats to our economy. America’s unemployment rate recently hit its highest mark in more than 25 years and is expected to continue climbing. Worries are widespread that even when the economy finally rebounds, the recovery won’t bring jobs. Our nation’s debt is unsustainable, and the federal government’s reach into the private sector is unprecedented.

Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of  these challenges. So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be:  I am deeply concerned about President Obama’s cap-and-trade energy plan, and I believe it is an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage.

American prosperity has always been driven by the steady supply of abundant, affordable energy. Particularly in Alaska, we understand the inherent link between energy and prosperity, energy and opportunity, and energy and security. Consequently, many of us in this huge, energy-rich state recognize that the president’s cap-and-trade energy tax would adversely affect every aspect of the U.S. economy.

There is no denying that as the world becomes more industrialized, we need to reform our energy policy and become less dependent on foreign energy sources. But the answer doesn’t lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive! Those who understand the issue know we can meet our energy needs and environmental challenges without destroying America’s economy.

Job losses are so certain under this new cap-and-tax plan that it includes a provision accommodating newly unemployed workers from the resulting dried-up energy sector, to the tune of $4.2 billion over eight years. So much for creating jobs.

In addition to immediately increasing unemployment in the energy sector, even more American jobs will be threatened by the rising cost of doing business under the cap-and-tax plan. For example, the cost of farming will certainly increase, driving down farm incomes while driving up grocery prices. The costs of manufacturing, warehousing and transportation will also increase.

The ironic beauty in this plan? Soon, even the most ardent liberal will understand supply-side economics.

The Americans hit hardest will be those already struggling to make ends meet. As the president eloquently puts it, their electricity bills will “necessarily skyrocket.” So much for not raising taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year.

Even Warren Buffett, an ardent Obama supporter, admitted that under the cap-and-tax scheme, “poor people are going to pay a lot more for electricity.”  We must move in a new direction. We are ripe for economic growth and energy independence if we responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil. Just as important, we have more desire and ability to protect the environment than any foreign nation from which we purchase energy today.

In Alaska, we are progressing on the largest private-sector energy project in history. Our 3,000-mile natural gas pipeline will transport hundreds of trillions of cubic feet of our clean natural gas to hungry markets across America. We can safely drill for U.S. oil offshore and in a tiny, 2,000-acre corner of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge if ever given the go-ahead by Washington bureaucrats.

Of course, Alaska is not the sole source of American energy.  Many states have abundant coal, whose technology is continuously making it into a cleaner energy source. Westerners literally sit on mountains of oil and gas, and every state can consider the possibility of nuclear energy.

We have an important choice to make. Do we want to control our energy supply and its environmental impact? Or, do we want to outsource it to China, Russia and Saudi Arabia? Make no mistake: President Obama’s plan will result in the latter.

For so many reasons, we can’t afford to kill responsible domestic energy production or clobber every American consumer with higher prices.

Can America produce more of its own energy through strategic investments that protect the environment, revive our economy and secure our nation?  Yes, we can. Just not with Barack Obama‘s energy cap-and-tax plan.

The writer, a Republican, is governor of Alaska.

When Are We Going to Stop Illegal Immigration?

Illegal immigration Pictures, Images and Photos

Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal

Here is an example of why hiring “illegal aliens” is not economically productive for America…

You have 2 families…”Joe Legal” and “Jose Illegal.”
Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California.

“Joe Legal” works in construction, has a “Social Security Number”, and makes $25.00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted…
“Jose Illegal” also works in construction, has “NO” Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table.”

Joe Legal…$25.00 per hour x 40 hours $1000.00 per week, $52,000 per year
Now take 30% away for taxes
Joe Legal now has $31,231.00

Jose Illegal…$15.00 per hour x 40 hours $600.00 per week, $31,200.00 per year
Jose Illegal pays no taxes…
Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00

Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage $1000.00 per month
$12,000.00 per year
Joe Legal now has $19,231.00

Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year
Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00

Joe Legal makes too much money is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare
Joe Legal pays for food $1,000.00 per month $12,000.00 per year
Joe Legal now has $ 7,231.00

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare
Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,000.00 per month $12,000.00 per year
Joe Legal is now in the hole minus (-) $4,769.00

Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy
Jose Illegal pays rent $500.00 per month $6,000.00 per year
Jose Illegal still has $25,200.00

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal’s and Jose Illegal’s children both attend the same school.
Joe Legal pays for his children’s lunches while
Jose Illegal’s children get a government sponsored lunch.

Jose Illegal’s children have an after school ESL program.
Joe Legal’s children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services,
but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Guest Post… May Others Stand Up Too!

CHAPLAIN GORDON JAMES KLINGENSCHMITT

The Navy Chaplain who dared to pray “in Jesus’ name.”

SUMMARY:  Gordon James Klingenschmitt is a former U.S. Navy Chaplain who made national headlines by standing up for the rights of military chaplains to pray publicly “in Jesus’ name.”   By sacrificing his 16 year career and a million dollar pension and demanding his own court martial, he inspired 300,000 petitioners, 35 pro-family groups, and 75 Congressmen who mobilized to overturn the national military “non-sectarian prayer” policy, restoring the rights of chaplains of all faiths to pray publicly, in uniform, according to the dictates of their conscience.

WHAT HAPPENED: Serving in wartime combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom aboard USS ANZIO, the Chaplain’s programs won six awards for community service (including “best in Navy”). Then suddenly his career was threatened when his commanding officer punished him in writing three times, for quoting “exclusive” Bible verses that claim Jesus is the way to heaven (like John 3:36) during one optionally-attended “Christian memorial service” inside a Navy base chapel. Investigators confirmed the skipper downgraded his evaluations for praying “in Jesus name” on the ship’s microphone, but lawyers ruled commanders have authority to punish sermons and prayers.

When religious discrimination threatened to end his career, the Chaplain staged an 18-day hunger strike in front of the White House. His story was reported on the front pages of the Washington Times, Washington Post, and New York Times, and the Navy backpedaled to renew his contract. But the Chief of Navy Chaplains told him to stop praying publicly “in Jesus name” because that “denigrates other faiths.” Then another commander stripped him of his regulatory right to wear his uniform during “public worship.” Finally the Secretary of the Navy signed an illegal policy directly requiring all chaplains to pray “non-sectarian” prayers outside of Sunday chapel

Chaplain Klingenschmitt joined 10-commandments Judge Roy Moore (pictured below), to challenge the Navy’s bad new prayer policy, by wearing his uniform again to pray publicly “in Jesus name” outside of the White House on a Thursday morning, and was punished at court-martial for disobeying “lawful” orders. The military judge enforced the bad new prayer policy, ruling that “public worship” was only safe inside Sunday chapel, but “worshipping in public” could be punished as a misdemeanor crime, if a chaplain said a prayer in uniform outside chapel. His “guilty” verdict ran in 520 newspapers.

Photobucket

Angered by the Navy’s anti-Jesus persecution of chaplains, 300,000 Americans petitioned the President, and 75 Congressmen stood with 35 pro-family groups who cited Klingenschmitt’s case, asking the President to let chaplains pray “in Jesus name” outside of chapel.  Congress finally rebuked the Secretary of the Navy by ordering him to rescind the same bad prayer policy enforced against Chaps in his court-martial, giving all other chaplains liberty to pray according to their faith everywhere, even in uniform, seven days a week. But the Navy refused to “grandfather” that legislative victory back to Klingenschmitt’s case, and they still defend that rescinded prayer policy in federal court, as their reason for denying his request to remain on active duty.  The Navy honorably but involuntarily discharged him after 16 years, just short of the 20 years required for pension, because he quoted the Bible in the chapel, and dared to pray “in Jesus name” in uniform outside of Sunday chapel.

The chaplain replied, “even if I sacrificed a million dollar pension, it was worth it, since Congress agreed with me, and gave other chaplains the freedom I was denied.  I never watered-down my prayers or sermons. Jesus is worth more to me than everything I’ve lost for His name.”  The Rutherford Institute represents Klingenschmitt (and 68 other chaplains) suing the Navy in federal court.

A 1991 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy with MBA and Master of Divinity degrees from Regent University, he’s now pursuing his PhD in Renewal Theology. In 2002 he volunteered for a demotion from Air Force Major to Navy Lieutenant just to become a chaplain. Ordained by the Chaplaincy of Full Gospel Churches, “Chaps” has been married to his wife Mary since 1991.

He now travels the country, accepting speaking invitations, and mobilizing churches to stand up for Jesus and take back our government, having preached to tens of thousands of people in 17 states in over 50+ churches. Would you please email this short biography page to your own Pastor now, or any conference or event organizer who comes to your mind?
